Our Vision
What we're building toward.
Sozo Bible College exists to see men and women in every nation — beginning with those the world has overlooked because of poverty — fully equipped, Spirit-filled, and sent out to preach the Gospel, teach sound doctrine, and make disciples of all nations, until the knowledge of the glory of God fills the earth as the waters cover the sea.
We hold a Gospel that is not only the way to heaven, but the power of God at work now to answer the prayer Christ Himself taught us:
We believe the true Gospel goes forward not merely to rescue souls out of a dying world, but to actively change that world — to push back darkness, restore what sin has broken, and joyfully give ourselves to the reversal of the curse over creation itself.
Sozo's graduates are trained to preach a Gospel that transforms nations, heals what is broken, and brings the reality of God's reign into the present — not a Gospel that waits for the world to end.
A Generation Carried by Joy, Not Duty
We envision a generation rising up — not in spite of their circumstances but precisely because the door was made wide enough for them to walk through — to carry the Gospel as a joy and a delight: an expression of love overflowing, full of excitement, stirring the very realms of God's love, energized and empowered with vision, hope, and enthusiasm. Theologically grounded, practically trained, and walking in the power of the Spirit, we carry forward the foundation laid by our founder, Dr. Duane F. Steeves, and press further into this conviction — that the world Christ died for is also the world He intends, through His Church, to remake.
New Creation, Not Religion
What happens in Christ is not moral self-improvement — it is new creation breaking into a dying world.
This new nature is given now, by the Spirit, and it will be fully consummated at the resurrection. We hold both together — a faith with real present power, and a real future hope. Those who have pursued not an abstraction but the actual purity of Christ have, even now, entered realms of glory the unsaved cannot conceive of.
Excellence as Expression, Not Striving
Once Christ indwells a believer, excellence and perfection now live within — not as a goal yet to be reached, but as a present reality. Our works become an expression of what is already within us by His Spirit, and the more that presence is expressed, the more we are ourselves transformed by it (2 Corinthians 3:18). This applies as fully to the artist, the songwriter, and the painter as to the theologian — which is why Sozo supports CyrusArt and the creative ministries alongside the academic core. True excellence is never pursued for its own glory; it flows from an atmosphere of love for God first and love for one another (1 Corinthians 13).
