Doug Cariou

Doug Cariou is a muralist, artist, and community builder based in British Columbia. His company, CyrusArt, began over 15 years ago as Grafx in Maple Ridge, BC — specialising in painting large-scale interior and exterior murals for businesses, cities, and communities across the province.

From a single wall to a 100-foot exterior, every project carries the same commitment: art that serves the people who inhabit the space.

About CyrusArt

CyrusArt is involved in both corporate business projects and non-profit humanitarian murals for various causes. Over the years, Doug has worked alongside different artists and tradespeople, including some of the top talent in British Columbia.

CyrusArt is skilled in project research, layout, art design, and the ability to communicate a client's vision in colour and scale. Projects are completed on time, in coordination with other trades, while maintaining full creative integrity.

CyrusArt has extensive knowledge of materials and equipment used for large-scale mural projects, including airbrush and HVLP systems, and has developed long-term confidence with suppliers — resulting in access to some of the best materials available for the work.

A Notable Commission

One of Doug's notable public works is the mural painted for All-Trans Transmission on their building at 32927 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford, BC (across from Sevenoaks Mall) — approximately 18 feet high, a landmark piece for that stretch of the Fraser Valley.

Doug has always believed that creative work carries a responsibility beyond the canvas. On major projects, he will often set aside a portion of the proceeds to be donated to charitable causes — organisations and initiatives making a real and lasting difference in people's lives.
