Interceding for God's Kingdom — In Memory of Dr. Duane F. Steeves

Dr. Steeves' Vision: Prayer warriors uphold the hands of missionaries, as Aaron and Hur did for Moses (Exodus 17:12).

Join Our Prayer Network

Dr. Steeves called for men and women of God to intercede for missionaries, orphans, and church revival. Join us in praying for:

  • Missionaries in Africa, Philippines, and Albania.
  • Orphans and street kids receiving aid through Save the World's Kids.
  • Revival in the Church, inspired by Dr. Steeves' book, A Critique of the Present Day Church.

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

Matthew 21:22

Voice of the Martyrs Korea PARK TAE-YEON - 70 YEAR OLD MISSIONARY ARRESTED DAYS BEFORE RETIREMENT NOW FACES UP TO 17 YEARS!

SHE SPENT 33 YEARS LOVING RUSSIAN CHILDREN. THEY ARRESTED HER ONE WEEK BEFORE SHE COULD GO HOME.

PARK TAE-YEON spent 33 years in Russia, ministering to children through Child Evangelism Fellowship and describing herself as someone “married to Russia” because of how deeply she loved the people there. At 69 years old, she’d finally decided it was time to retire and return home to South Korea. Her plane ticket was already purchased. One week before her flight, on January 15, Russian authorities arrested her in Khabarovsk.

Officials charged her with immigration violations, but state-affiliated Russian media quickly ran a very different story, claiming Korean missionaries had “brainwashed” children and forced them to copy the Bible for hours, with one city official alleging the goal was to take children to Korea for “final zombification.” Missionary Park now faces up to 17 years in prison across three immigration-related charges. In July, Russia officially designated Child Evangelism Fellowship USA as an “undesirable organisation.” Her trial, which opened July 28, was expected to reach a verdict by August 10, but the judge rescheduled, meaning a ruling may not come until late September.

Voice of the Martyrs Korea has delivered a petition with more than 4,000 signatures to the Russian Embassy calling for her release, and reports that she remains in good spirits, reading her Bible daily in detention. This is a story still unfolding, with no verdict yet and real uncertainty about what comes next for a woman who gave three decades of her life to loving other people’s children.

Do you think the global church should be doing more to advocate for missionaries facing charges like this?

Costa Rica

While the evangelical movement in Costa Rica has grown rapidly—making up roughly 19% to 28% of the population—churches face distinct organisational, social, and political hurdles’
There are many prayer needs.
Many ministries excel at initial evangelism and attracting "converts," but struggle to provide deep, long-term discipleship. There is a distinct push within the country for better theological education to counter shallow, distorted, or heavily diluted gospel. There is a need for spirit filled teaching as Believers frequently drift between different congregations or fall away entirely during personal hardships due to lack of good teaching and understanding.
A vast majority of pastors survive on very low financial resources, making it difficult to maintain a full-time ministry. Many local congregations are led by a single leader with very little administrative or pastoral help, accelerating burnout.
Churches face an uphill battle ministering in communities heavily impacted by missing father figures and systemic familial breakdown as well as skyrocketing addiction and local drug trades require churches to move past traditional services and invest in heavily demanding social recovery programs.

For Pakistan.
In the Islamic Democratic Republic Pakistan, The last census indicates there are 3.5 million Christians, 1.5% of the population most being historically generational faith passed down generation to generation.
Christians are treated poorly, most in Bonded labour situations.
Pakistan is a nation with unenforced Judicial laws and little to no accountability for their actions against minorities.
Under this kind of oppression the Children pay the price. Christian girls, still children, are daily kidnapped, raped and forced into Islam. Jesus is the only one who can help them

For Reeha in Pakistan -
She has health issues, she has Kidney stones, abandoned by her Husband once they knew she was with child and now pregnant and cannot work to care of herself due to pain.

Pakistan sits squarely in the global "stone belt," a geographic region with a high prevalence of kidney stones. Contributing factors include chronic dehydration from a hot climate, diets high in sodium and low in protective calcium, inadequate fluid intake, and regional hard-drinking water.

Church build in Pakistan going forward

Four years ago, I received a burden for Pakistan. I saw that hundreds of missionaries were going to India, but few to Pakistan due to it being an Islamic Republic. And I said to the Lord, “Send me”. I was in Argentina at the time and could find no one who was interested in knowing Jesus in a close and deep relationship. All my pastor friends had thrown Jesus out with the bath water so to speak, when COVID came and the economy collapsed. I felt very alone and sought for a people Hungry for God.
To that end I found a family of very poor brick workers, Christians, who lived in bonded slavery working in a brick Kiln. I learned that the whole village all worked in the "The Brick" as they call it, all in bonded slavery.
They showed me the living conditions and I was horrified to learn and see the water that they had to drink and bath in, it was absolutely black. DOSI Gospel Missions decided to put a well in the village so that they could have clean water to drink and bath. It cost only $500 Canadian dollars. It changed their lives.
Since that time, the village people, hungry for someone to show them Jesus, have gathered each Sunday in the home of the family and I teach the gospel of the Kingdom to them. DOSI purchased many bibles but most, having never been to school, cannot read of write; therefore, they come each week to hear God's word.
In the four years they have grown so much in understanding and faith, desiring to build a house of God in their village where they could go and pray and be in the Lord’s presence.
We have been praying for this for sometime, but I was never able to help them with their vision and dream. Over the last few years, they have taken the very little they have, made the mite sacrifice, and given each week it toward the goal of building a church.
Today, they rejoice as they have, with their own money they have saved, $3000 dollars, and purchased the land, 100 square meter lot to build the church on.
What an incredible Testimony of love and faith for God we here in Canada, in our abundance, can only wonder at. They have taken the mite and given it to Jesus so he can live among them. What a lesson for us comfortable Christians here in Canada.
Here in Canada, we are one of the riches nations in the world. We are a people who love the world and the things of the world. We are blinded by comfort to the truth of the gospel.
“Do not love the world, nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world” 1John 2:15-16
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches!

Prayer for strength to carry on

Sometimes I get down, I think "am I making a difference. Does the Lord know me? Does He hear my prayers?"

Then I think about all the blessing and what he has done in my life. As David states in psalm 139 You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.
I have such a witness, Jesus speaking directly to me through true Prophets; His own witness to me, saying to me if you were not my disciple how could I have used you as My instrument to give sight to the blind, to heal a leaper and cast out one possessed with a demon.

I understand, that it not my lack of patience waiting, but more my zeal for His kingdom, now in this dispensation of man, where he has given us authority to continue His ministry of reconciliation and declare the forgiveness of sins. I long for His presence continually.
